Muffin Anyone?
Posted under How I See It by MikeWith the proliferation of hip hugger fashions I’ve noticed a correlation of additional skin exposure. As a male I don’t find objection to this normally.
However.
I’ve noticed that living here in Southern California fashion sense knows no age. Or size…
Now I’m not an advocate of the fashion statement made by the “Mom Jeans.” That style of pants that rises above the navel. Who thought that much coverage was necessary?
But people, let’s understand our limits. With the huge assortment of possible pant options out there, you’d think that one would be able to find something to flatter their figure. No matter of size or age.
Here’s a tip that may help the next time your checking out the latest styles and wondering what fits and looks good.
Check the mirror before purchasing. If the skin hangs over, you’ve got “spillage.” Step away and try again.
Let’s all do our part in eliminating “muffin topitis.”

As we speak, my muffin top is front and center. It’s the low-rise thing, Mike. I wear a size 6 in low-rise and a 10 in grandma pants. Sucks to be me…

I agree, but the problem here is they make jeans for the teens/twenty somethings or Jeans for the AARP crowd, but nothing for those of us in between. I have been complaining about this for years.

All I will say is, I’m glad I’m a guy.

I seem to have the same problem as Half-Past Kissin’ – I wore a size 10 in the 80′s/90′s and am now down to a size 6, which makes no sense after having 3 children.
I’ve noticed teens with tons of spillage and then they wear these skin tight t-shirts which emphasize the muffin top. That’s what I can’t “stomach.”

Gap is the happy medium. They’ve got jeans for every shape and size. I like that they’ve got jeans that sit low enough to be stylish, but not so low that … ummm… no tactful way to say it… not so low that my butt-crack shows. Pretty sure they have styles to prevent emphasizing the muffin top too.
It occurs to me that yours is probably the only blog where I’ve now commented about thongs, going commando, and butt cracks.

LOL! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I finally got rid of the one that was forming…phew.

Oh, the muffin tops I see every time I go to work. Along with other, equally egregious fashion faux pas.
I can’t wear low-rider jeans. Even when I was a size 8, I am Hispanic and have the butt to prove it.

They CAN fit in “normal jeans”. I have a friend “mom” who does.
LOL
