One in the Hand, Two in the Bush…

Posted under How I See It

As our current President is completing his last days in office, it occurred to me that he and I have many things in common.

He and I have been in our current positions for eight years.

We both started our journeys back in 2001.

He is a staunch Republican who still believes in the ideals of his party.

I’m a staunch Republican who is wondering where my party is going.

He is a husband whose wife is his biggest fan.

I believe that my Democratic “liberal” wife is my biggest fan.

He is a father of daughters who have dubious reputations.  Though it would seem they’ve gotten their acts together now.

I am a father of daughters who have great reputations.  There are days however that I find more hair in the sink and suspect them as the cause.

He is leading the fight on the war on terrorism.

I’m leading the fight on a terrorist dog in our neighborhood.

He is a baseball fan and was once a co-owner of the Texas Rangers.

I’m a baseball fan an owner of an Anaheim Angels jersey.

He is the owner of two dogs and a cat.

I’m the owner of two cats and a dog.

He is presiding over the largest economic deficit in history.

Have you seen my latest credit card statement?

His father once threw up on the Prime Minister of Japan.

I once threw up on my high school girlfriend.

His wife was once a school teacher and librarian.

My wife is a school teacher and loves the library.

He will be leaving his job next Tuesday and handing the reins to another.

I will be leaving my job in June and handing it off to no one.

Thanks for the memories, George…
