Vacation…

Vacation is usually a when a family takes the time to go to a place that they enjoy and can appreciate the surroundings and the weather. Be it Hawaii and the sunshine and beaches or Colorado and the snow and skiing.
So what did my wife and I decide to do with our vacation this year? Somehow we thought it was a good idea to travel to Palm Springs in the middle of July. Do you know how hot it gets in Palm Springs in the middle of the summer?
Triple digits don’t do it justice. Tuesday’s weather report: 110 degrees…
I’ve been told, it’s a dry heat. Bullshit, it’s hot. Dry or not.
However, this is something the wife and I enjoy doing. We get away from our beach home where every other summer vacationer is at and head out here to the high desert. We avoid the crowds, cause let’s face it, only crazy people go out to the desert in the middle of July.
So I’m currently blogging on vacation (yes, I’m that dedicated, or stupid) from beautiful downtown Palm Springs. The wife and I are sitting pool side with something cool and alcoholic in the blender and within reach.
And that finally answers the question: “Where do beach dwellers go on vacation?”. I always figured the answer was “to the city”. Now I know better. Enjoy your dry heat!
Yep, the good old “dry heat.” My oven has dry heat, you should see what it does to meat!

I love palm springs. love it. yes, come to new england for a humid heat wave (or the midwest, where I went to school) and you will see the difference between wet heat and dry heat.
