The End Is Near…

By every-one’s comments and the recent glaring looks I got from my wife, I guess it’s time to change the subject from my sex life. On to more pressing matters.
I just received my next to last unemployment check today. One more in a couple of weeks and then the money is gone. Until I file for an extension of benefits.
I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would be out of work for this long. Six months is a long time, I’ve never been this long without working. And it isn’t like I haven’t tried. I’ve sent resumes, I’ve networked, I’ve let it be known to everyone high and low that I was looking for work. Any work.
I know that with the extension that we’re good for a few more months and there is a secondary extension as well. But honestly, what’s a guy got to do to find employment? No seriously.
Thankfully I’m still writing for a couple of places, one of them I advertise here on the blog (hint: it’s that block of stories with my name on them over on the right side) to help a little. At least enough to keep my cigar habit paid for.
I know there are others who have it worse than my family. So when you throw a prayer their way, drop one down for me. I’d appreciate it….
Do you get $ whenever anyone reads your stories? I’ll go read them all today!

I will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts. It’s been such a tough year in this economy. My husband lost his job a year ago. Since then most of his former co-workers have been hired and laid off again.

Whew – Sorry nothing has come up yet. It will – Still have my eyes open for ya. I understand the extensions are – extending. So you should be ok there. All of my kids(young adults) are now unemployed. Its certainly not fun.
